What is the spacing required for installing Roots blowers? Which standard specifies it clearly. Seeking advice, thank you!
Generally, it depends on the size of the equipment – what’s convenient for maintenance is sufficient
Different industries have design specifications that include requirements regarding the location of blowers.
For normal chemical plant operations, a distance of 750 mm is sufficient; the space required for maintenance should be increased to 1200 mm
If a soundproof enclosure is used, the spacing needs to be increased further
It’s best not to be too close. Firstly, this is for the purpose of maintenance. Secondly, rotary vacuum pumps generate a lot of vibration; being too close can lead to resonance. Thirdly, these pumps produce a large amount of heat, and they are sensitive to heat; poor air circulation results in high temperatures, which accelerates oil consumption and speeds up the wear and tear of the machine.
