How should a plant-wide overhaul be coordinated and planned? My mind is in chaos; I have no idea what to do. The various workshops and maintenance teams still hold a hostile attitude toward our Equipment Department
Each workshop has its own responsible personnel, while the company’s equipment management department is in charge of overall coordination. First, it sorts out the maintenance plans submitted by each workshop into categories such as those that are important, essential and require welding to be completed, those that can be carried out later or in advance, and those that can be prepared during the overhaul and constructed later. Priority is given to important equipment, critical equipment, and those that require welding to be completed during the overhaul (especially for units where welding is not allowed under normal circumstances). Attention is also paid to the impact of material supplies, spare parts, and the delivery times of equipment.
What was said upstairs is right – let each department submit its own maintenance plans. You then just need to organize those plans, arrange the dates, and assign the personnel responsible for each task.
Don’t they give you any maintenance plans? So how to coordinate it? They really treat scheduling as if it were some kind of magic~~~
Before carrying out maintenance, the unit has a reasonable maintenance plan established, which is followed in sequence
The fact that the maintenance workshops and affiliated units still dare to hold hostile views toward the Equipment Department proves that not only is your technical skill level inadequate in your daily work, but your interpersonal skills are also poor. If the relationship isn’t strong, it’s definitely hard to get work done
Collect the major maintenance projects for each workshop, compile a list of these maintenance tasks, and have each workshop develop a network plan. Overhaul projects are classified into categories such as pipe welding, various projects, anti-corrosion and insulation work, external cleaning services, annual inspections of special equipment, and valve calibration; thereafter, the maintenance team assigns personnel based on these project categories.

For company-wide maintenance activities, it is necessary to consider the schedule of the specific maintenance tasks and organize everything around that schedule; this includes both internal tasks as well as external ones (such as coordination regarding water and electricity maintenance). Identify the project with the longest maintenance time as the main one; all other maintenance tasks must be aligned with this main project, with interrelated tasks taking priority as well. There are also auxiliary units that need to be activated in advance according to the requirements of the main components, such as gas for replacement. . . . . . If it’s an established company, it should draw on past experience to develop this. This must be organized at the level of the entire company’s production. For reference. What needs to be mentioned here are the key tasks of the Equipment Department: preparation, inspection, supervision, acceptance, and assisting in the commissioning process. The most important aspects here are ensuring that the spare parts are ready, as well as providing on-site technical guidance and inspections. There is also external coordination work. Keep in mind that company maintenance is related to projects connected to production.
No coordination is needed; each department should submit its maintenance plan, and actions should be taken according to that plan. Those who fail to meet the requirements will be held accountable: lol
What coordination is there? You’re from the equipment department; what you should focus on is ensuring that all the spare parts needed for equipment maintenance are available before the maintenance begins, as well as ensuring that the data related to the maintenance is accurate and properly recorded. Additionally, you need to check that the equipment is functioning properly after maintenance is completed. By the way, coordination is the responsibility of the dispatch team – don’t try to take over their job, hehe
During the plant-wide maintenance work here, matters that can be handled within the workshop are generally dealt with by the workshop itself; for those that require external coordination, one should turn to the dispatch department. As for whether the necessary equipment and spare parts are available and the arrangement of maintenance personnel, these tasks fall under the responsibility of the Equipment Department. However, the workshop must submit its maintenance plan to the company’s management in advance and contact the relevant departments early to confirm the materials that need to be purchased.
