How to understand that the contact angle between the journal and the bearing shell should be no less than 60°. If it is a circular or elliptical tile, linear contact should theoretically occur; how can the contact angle reach 60°? It still needs to be lapped during installation.

I mean theoretically, even when taking tolerance factors into account, the contact angle won’t be that large.
The contact angle should not be too small, nor too large. If it is too small, the load-bearing strength of the bearing shells will increase, resulting in greater wear and a shorter lifespan. An excessively large contact angle affects the formation of the oil film, accelerates wear, and impairs the proper operation of mechanical equipment
The normal shaft is supported by an oil film; the surface of the bearing shells should have evenly distributed depressions, so that lubricating oil can be stored there and an oil film can be formed. It can also be understood as the shaft being supported by numerous points. Practice is the sole criterion for testing truth; by working with a tile repair expert, one will understand what’s going on.
