A centrifugal compressor is a type of compressor that operates on the principle of centrifugal force. A centrifugal compressor consists of a drive mechanism, a centrifugal wheel, guide vanes, a diffuser, and other components. When the driving mechanism causes the centrifugal wheel to rotate at high speed, gases such as air enter the central part of the centrifugal wheel and are accelerated in rotation. During rotation, the guide vanes continuously direct the high-speed rotating gas toward the edge of the centrifugal wheel, thereby increasing the pressure energy of the gas. Immediately thereafter, the gas is slowed down by the diffuser and its pressure is increased, before it is finally discharged. Centrifugal compressors feature a simple structure, high efficiency, and good reliability, which enables their widespread use in fields such as petrochemicals, air conditioning and refrigeration, and natural gas transportation. .
