After plate and frame filtration, the plates need to be blown with nitrogen or compressed air in order to blow away the filter cake; this reduces the amount of filtrate and helps the filter cake to dry out!

The moisture level in our unit isn’t very high; after pressing, the water resulting from compression is used to further squeeze the filter plates and dry out the filter cake, with the residue being removed thereafter
There are many reasons for this. After pressing, the filter cake has a high moisture content, and this is related to factors such as the pressure applied, the filtration precision, the particle size distribution of the material, the density of the layer, the bulk density, and the amount of material fed in. The most straightforward way to determine the issue is to ask the filter manufacturer to conduct a test analysis on the material, which will help identify the problem
It may be related to factors such as the vacuum level of the leaf filter, the dehydration time in the drying and dehydrating zone, whether the filter cake cracks, and the particle size distribution of the material. A small quantity of the material can be provided, and tests can be conducted using our company’s pressure filtration technology as well as the various filtration testing equipment available in our application engineering laboratory, in order to determine the most suitable equipment and process for filtering that material.
