Our factory has 1 horizontal, three-stage, four-row reciprocating compressor (divided into stage 1, stage 2, the first three stages, and the last three stages), with hydrogen as the working medium; its model is 4M50. Recently, there have been frequent breaks in the valve plates of the stage 2 exhaust valve, which is made of PVC material. The compressor is lubricated using an oil injector, at a rate of about 30 drops per minute. Please analyze the cause of the breakage.
Increase the frequency of draining the inlet buffer tank. Check whether the gas is clean and free from impurities. Were recycled valve plates used? Conduct a survey on the replacement frequency of springs and whether they should be replaced simultaneously (to prevent the use of recycled valve plates).
Why is the material of the exhaust valve PVC? Polyether ether and PEEK are generally used; what materials are used for valve discs of other grades?
Is the filter in front broken?
I’m not very familiar with materials; it is indeed polyether ether ketone as well as PEEK material.
There are now doubts regarding two aspects: 1. The oil injector injects too much oil, causing liquid slugging. 2. The material of the valve disc is not very suitable for the operating environment and conditions of the compressor; the material needs to be upgraded.
Breakage of the PEEK valve disc is not common; should insufficient spring force, excessive floating of the valve disc, or the impact of pressure differences on the valve disc be considered?
