This technological breakthrough fills the gap in ultra-high-pressure ionic liquid boosting technology in China, providing strong support for the development of Lanxi Group’s hydrogen energy industry chain. As an important part of Lansi Group’s hydrogen energy strategy, the 90MPa ionic liquid hydrogen compressor is a key device in hydrogen refueling stations, and it plays a significant role in reducing costs and improving efficiency across the hydrogen energy industry chain. Leveraging the company’s extensive expertise in high-pressure equipment technology, and in collaboration with a team from China University of Petroleum (East China), the project team overcame numerous technical challenges. They managed to increase the pressure level applicable to ionic liquid compression from 45 MPa to 90 MPa, thereby addressing the issue of China’s long-term reliance on imports in this field. Driven by the \"dual carbon\" strategy, hydrogen energy has not only become a key focus in the global energy transition but also an important means to advance the revolution in energy production and consumption in China, to build a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient energy system, and to achieve the goals of carbon peak and carbon neutrality. Next, the company will focus on the goal of high-quality development in the energy sector, continuing to implement the group’s \"1333\" development strategy for the new era as well as its \"three excellences, four strengths, and one enhancement\" industrial framework. The 45MPa ionic liquid hydrogen compressor, as a major scientific and technological project in Gansu Province, represents an important component of Lansi Group’s new energy equipment focused on nuclear hydrogen, solar energy, and energy storage. It serves as the core hydrogen refueling device among the three key elements of Lansi Group’s system: green hydrogen production, energy storage devices, and hydrogen refueling equipment. As the person in charge of this project, Qu Dianjun has been involved throughout the entire process, from project research and key technology development as well as system design and validation in 2021, to scheme design, detailed design, engineering drawings, and design and manufacturing, all the way to the final operation and debugging. More than 1,180 days of perseverance have witnessed the development of the 45MPa ionic liquid hydrogen compressor from nothing to something tangible, from an idea to a reality. Currently, the hydrogen compressors commonly used in China are mostly diaphragm compressors and liquid-driven piston compressors, while ion liquid compressor technology has been under foreign monopoly. The 45MPa ionic liquid hydrogen compressor independently developed by Lansi Equipment Company is the first of its kind in China, and the testing machine located next to it is also the first of its kind in the country. Since there was no testing equipment for such hydrogen compressors available in the country, they designed and manufactured a specialized testing system for hydrogen compressors.
