A major equipment inspection is coming up; it seems there are specific guidelines for inspecting the high-temperature oil pumps. This includes keeping records, etc. So what temperature is considered high for an oil pump?
The model of high-temperature oil pumps is generally indicated by the letter R. Oil pumps with a medium temperature of over 200 degrees Celsius are considered high-temperature oil pumps.
Each organization has its own definition for high-temperature oil pumps; in our case, pumps for liquid hydrocarbons and those operating at temperatures above 250 degrees Celsius are classified as high-temperature pumps;

Liquid hydrocarbon pumps can’t really be considered high-temperature pumps, can they? A high-temperature pump refers to a pump that transports media with a temperature of ≥200°C (sometimes 250°C), or media whose transport temperature exceeds their autoignition point. It depends on how your company defines it

Use a medium with a temperature of over 200 degrees Celsius
I think it should be above 260 (or 250) degrees Celsius, because 260 is a critical value in the design of centrifugal pumps; above this value, the lubricating oil requires forced water cooling, and bellows or similar components must be used for the shaft seals.
Shouldn’t it all be 200°C? This is the only criterion for distinguishing between hot oil pumps and cold oil pumps that I know from my years in this industry: a pump used for transporting media at temperatures above 200°C is considered a hot oil pump.
