A gas seal functions by using a pressure that is higher than the leakage pressure inside the cylinder but lower than the pressure within the cylinder; once the leakage gas and the sealing gas mix, a certain pressure is formed which is then released into the atmosphere. The principle is to use gas pressure to create a pressure difference at the seal point, thereby preventing the gas inside the cylinder from escaping and directing the leaked gas elsewhere. “What are the types of sealing gas used in the gas seal seat? ” Sealing gases include dry air and nitrogen; in multi-stage compressors, different pressures at each stage are utilized to introduce the leaked gas, along with the balanced pressure, to a certain stage or to the main suction inlet.
