What to do if the medium contains sand

Due to the high level of sand in the natural gas, the reciprocating compressors in our factory experience severe wear and tear on their components. We are considering installing a filter at the compressor’s inlet, but we’re not sure what type of filter would work without affecting the amount of air that enters the compressor. Could anyone with expertise give us some guidance?
Devices such as demisting screens can be installed in the compressor inlet buffer tank to see if they can remove sand.
A sintered filter with a precision of 5um or 3um is installed before entering the compressor.
Add a cyclone separator and clean it regularly
A buffer tank must be added! Two sets of filters, one as a backup and one in use!
