Why are there primary and secondary thrust bearings in the front bearing cylinder? The primary thrust bearing is used to counteract the force exerted by the steam after the machine starts up; what is the function of the secondary thrust bearing? Also, why are two expansion bends installed before the steam turbine?
The primary thrust is used to bear the axial force during the normal operation of the turbine, while the secondary thrust handles the axial force during the startup and shutdown of the turbine
During the start-up of parking or intake fluctuations, the auxiliary system comes into play
During operation, the main thrust is what takes effect, but during startup and when loads fluctuate, the auxiliary thrust comes into play
