What is the general process for maintaining screw air compressors? How often should the filter elements be replaced, and how often should the oil be changed? Does anyone know approximately how much it costs each time? Why does our air compressor leak oil all the time, causing oil to spread all over the floor?
We recommend attending our event in Shanghai in August; a specialist will give a detailed explanation on compressor repair
The air filter needs to be replaced every 2,000 hours, depending on the quality of the air in the working environment; the oil and filter elements need to be replaced every 8,000 hours. The exact cost depends on the model of your air compressor. For Atlas compressors, the repair costs are around 15,000 per ton for the oil, while the cost of the oil and filter elements is approximately 5,000. The annual maintenance cost is around 30,000, depending on the operating hours.
There are significant differences in terms of the motor’s power, operating environment and usage time, as well as brand. You can ask the manufacturer or search on Baidu for details; as for oil leakage, you can ask the maintenance staff to check it for you!
Do screw compressors need oil change every 8,000 hours? Our company’s screw compressors generally have their oil changed every 2,500 hours as part of maintenance
Oil for screw air compressors is currently specified by manufacturers in most cases, and it mainly falls into two categories: mineral oil and synthetic oil. The replacement cycle for mineral oil is short; we have always used the synthetic oil recommended by the manufacturer, replacing it every 8,000 hours.
Our screw compressor is over two years old; we only recently replaced the refrigeration oil and refrigerant, as well as the filter elements
The air filter has been replaced; the oil filter was cleaned but not replaced
For screw compressors, it depends on whether you use domestic or imported models. For imported models, the oil and air filters usually need to be replaced every 2000 hours. There are also different types of oil available; for example, Atlas offers oils suitable for 4000 hours or 8000 hours of use, while Sullair provides oils labeled 32 and 24KT – the 32 series oil is meant for 8000 hours of use, and with 24KT oil, in theory there is no need to replace it. As for the price, it depends on the power capacity of the compressor.
