I. Equipment issues: Oil leakage at various static joint surfaces of the equipment. II. Analysis of equipment issues: The reasons for oil leakage generally include the following: Pressure differences resulting from temperature rise; Inadequate coordination with structural design, or issues with processing, assembly, and disassembly ; Over time, due to various vibrations during use, the sealing components or sealing areas may get damaged ; Seal failure due to poor sealing ; Failing to strictly follow the procedures ; Improper selection of oil or incorrect amount of fuel added can both be causes of oil leakage. III. Comparison of Advantages of Repair Methods (1) Traditional repair methods: Disassembling the equipment to replace seals or sealants, or having factory technicians carry out repairs on-site. It requires high labor intensity and has high maintenance costs. (2) Polymer composite repair process: For leaks in the static sealing surfaces of gearboxes, oil stations, pipelines, and other components, polymer composite materials and related technologies are used to address these leaks on-site, without the need for disassembly. By applying these polymer composites externally, leakage can be fixed quickly and efficiently, with immediate results. The superior adhesion and oil resistance of these materials help to overcome the effects of vibration in gearboxes, thus solving problems that companies have struggled with for years. IV. Description of the repair process (I) For some equipment that experiences mild vibration and slight oil leakage ; (1) Leave sufficient operating space at the site to ensure safety during construction. (2) Sand the surface of the equipment to achieve an appropriate width, remove oil, and clean it with anhydrous ethanol. (3) Apply the 25551 fast-curing repair agent to the leaking area for the first time, and then check the effectiveness of the repair after it has cured. If there are any missed spots, reprocess them; otherwise, proceed with the operations below. (4) Apply the 3223 high-strength modified polyurethane rubber composite material to effectively cover the aforementioned first layer of material. (5) Check for any leakage points during curing. (II) For some oil-leaking equipment with very slight vibration or that is stationary ; (1) Leave sufficient operating space at the site to ensure safety during construction. (2) Sand the surface of the equipment to achieve an appropriate width, remove oil, and clean it. (3) After the first application of the 25551 fast-curing repair agent has cured, check the effectiveness of the treatment. If there are any missed spots, reprocess them; otherwise, proceed with the operations below. (4) Apply the 2296 polymer nanocomposite functional material to effectively cover the aforementioned first layer of material. (5) Check for any leakage points during curing. (III) For some equipment with relatively obvious leaks that require shutdown for repair ; (This method is only applicable when the equipment is shut down.) (1) Turn off the power to the equipment to ensure safe operation ; (2) Leave enough operating space at the site and ensure that the site meets the treatment requirements. (3) Sand the surface of the equipment to achieve an appropriate width, remove oil, and clean it. (4) Apply the 2296 polymer nanocomposite functional material directly by coating the areas that need to be treated. (5) Turn on the machine after the material has cured. V. Process Requirements (1) The surface treatment process must be carried out in accordance with our company’s technical specifications. (2) The 25551 rapid-curing repair agent dries quickly (it takes about 5 minutes to cure at 24°C); it should be used as soon as it is prepared, and application should take place promptly after mixing. (3) For reducers subject to severe vibration, it is required that the material at the joint surfaces be fully cured following leakage treatment before the unit can be started up. VI. Precautions (1) Check for any remaining leaks after applying the material. (2) Whether the 3223 high-strength modified polyurethane rubber composite material fully covers the first layer of material. (3) Surface grinding must remove all paint, rust, dust, and other contaminants; the original color of the metal should be exposed, and the surface should be ground rough. VII. Application Cases The cases mentioned above all deal with seal leakage issues in enterprises such as cement plants, power plants, and steel mills. Two to three years have passed since these problems were resolved, and the systems have been operating without any issues, thus completely eliminating the headaches caused by leaks in these enterprises.
