One submersible pump in our company’s wells (as shown in the diagram) is designed to have a 4-stage impeller, but only three impellers were included when it left the factory. If the missing first-stage blade is added, how will the flow rate and head of this pump change? The pump power is 7.5 kW; the current depth of installation is 50 meters, and the outlet pipeline has a DN80 diameter. Chemical Equipment and Machinery
The pump’s head increases. However, the flow rate and head of the pump are determined by the performance curve of the system and the performance curve of the pump.
As the pump’s head increases while the flow rate remains unchanged, the motor power may become insufficient, which can lead to damage to the motor.
If the power is insufficient, then this reserved impeller position would be meaningless
