For the modification of the dry gas seal on the LG122/1.2 screw compressor, is it necessary to add isolation gas?

Our company uses secondary screw compressors of the LG122/1.2 model for the production of butadiene; these compressors operate at a speed of 2980 revolutions per minute, and they are manufactured by Qi Yao Compressors. During operation, the mechanical seals experience frequent leakage, and we would like to replace them with dry gas seals. The sealing gas typically comes from the main seal as well as the pre-seal. Given the low rotation speed and a seal shaft diameter of 90 mm, is it necessary to use an additional isolation gas? We appreciate any valuable suggestions you can provide. Thank you!
Normally, a double-end dry gas seal requires an isolation gas to prevent lubricating oil from entering the seal chamber and contaminating it. In Qi Yao’s units, the bearing chamber and the seal chamber are separate; therefore, when designing the dry gas seal system, it is possible to omit the isolation gas pipeline if so specified
