Newbie seeking help (just starting to work with air separation). I am helping my teacher conduct an analysis of the efficiency and energy consumption of centrifugal air compressors. What factors influence the fluctuations in the motor current of such compressors? The outlet flow rate and motor current remain essentially unchanged. Is the outlet flow rate the main factor affecting the efficiency of the air compressor? (Used to monitor operating conditions, calculated as an isothermal process)
Regarding the structural data of the several centrifugal air compressors currently imported, the flow rates specified in the factory data are based on the import flow rates. Theoretically, it is an approximately absolute-pressure environment, so there is no pressure loss. The current of the air compressor is mainly influenced by the opening degree of the inlet vanes and the frequency of their operation; other related factors include the set value of the exhaust pressure, as well as temperature and humidity levels.

I’m not quite sure what determines the frequency of their operation... What I mainly want to know is what factors might affect the fluctuations in motor current and outlet flow rate, so that I can develop a function for monitoring the operating conditions of the air compressor.
