The high-speed shaft rotates at around 1,000 revolutions per minute; it continued to operate for a few days even after the bearings were worn out, which caused severe vibration in the gearbox. After removing the bearings, damage was found on the shaft. Can this shaft still be used?
The shaft without repair cannot be used. Thermal spraying and cold plating can be used for repair.
This can’t be used; even if it’s repaired, it might not work properly. It’s better to get a new one

Are there one at each end of the bearing, in front and behind, meaning a total of two skeleton oil seals?
The area where the oil seal is worn should be smooth and shiny; this isn’t wear of the oil seal. It’s likely that the bearing is damaged, which causes excessive shaft play, and as a result the labyrinth seal is worn
Check the shaft for bending and repair it by brush plating.
The ellipticity is measured using an outside diameter micrometer for the shaft; there is also a slight interference fit in the inner ring of the rolling bearing, and as long as these values are within the allowable range, the components can be used. Do gears also need to have rust removed and lubricated? With sliding bearings, it’s very troublesome to repair the shaft and the bearing shells; if it’s not too expensive, it’s better to replace them
Replace the shaft as soon as possible; otherwise, you’ll have so many problems that it will make you question everything
