Today, a single-stage horizontal centrifugal pump was leaking at its mechanical seal while in operation. Try adjusting the position of the spring base + check the seal ring inside the moving ring! If it’s a new seal, it’s advisable to ask the manufacturer for the correct installation method; for an old seal, replacement should be considered. Personally, I think your pump is in a vacuum system; once it starts operating, pressure builds up in the sealed chamber, and then air leaks out from the seal. When the pump stops, negative pressure develops in the sealed chamber, and air is drawn in through that seal
