Grouting and sand filling for compressor installation

For current compressor installations, should the sand filled between the anchor bolts and the foundation sleeves be medium-grained sand with a particle size of 5–15 mm, or should it be sand with a particle size of 3–5 mm, or perhaps another particle size? What are the general requirements for this sand?
I don’t think too high requirements are necessary for this; choosing sand instead of filling everything with grout is mainly to take into account vibration resistance, as well as providing room for expansion – that’s my understanding
