Dear experts, where are the bolts for the frame tie rods of a reciprocating machine? Clear pictures or videos would be very helpful. Thank you!
Also, I wonder what the function of the fuselage tie rod bolts is? ? ?
The design institute reminds you: As we all know, it’s the upper part with a lid, right? When the lid is opened, many crossbeams can be seen. The crossbeam is stuck inside the crankcase, and it is secured to the crankcase by tie rod bolts.
On the crankcase, it doesn’t have to be rod-shaped; some are square. It is mainly to prevent the airframe from deforming and to increase its stiffness

“2.8. The crankshaft, connecting rods, piston rods, main bearing bolts, fuselage tie rod bolts, cylinder head bolts, valve cover bolts, and connecting rod bolts shall be made of forged steel. The surface of the piston rod should be coated with a wear-resistant material. ” This is mentioned in the purchase request from the design institute; it’s not a piston rod bolt!
