Who can give a detailed explanation of the S and F types of bases for horizontal pressure vessels?
Fixed supports and sliding supports for easy positioning
S means smooth, that is, it refers to a smooth surface; S denotes the sliding end while F denotes the fixed end
The openings in the saddle base plate corresponding to the fixed lower foot bolts are circular, while those at the sliding end are oval-shaped; this is due to the principle of thermal expansion and contraction.
I’ve seen foundations at the sliding end and the fixed end with a significant height difference, of around 50 mm. What do you think is the reason for this?
