Happy New Year, dear friends! Previously, I used a canned motor pump for my heat transfer oil system. The repair costs after it got damaged amounted to over 100,000 yuan. Now, I’d like to switch to a regular centrifugal pump. Could you all recommend which manufacturer makes the best heat transfer oil pumps? It would be great if it’s a well-known brand. Please give me some suggestions. The required pump specifications are: a head of 90 meters. Flow rate: 400 m3/h. Temperature 350°C.

Shielded pumps and magnetic drive pumps have deficiencies under these operating conditions: the coils of shielded pumps cannot withstand high temperatures, while magnetic drive pumps lose their magnetism easily at high temperatures. It is recommended to use high-temperature centrifugal pumps, with the key lying in sealing. It is understood that several well-known machine seal manufacturers are capable of producing high-temperature machine seals, which offer high reliability.
Our factory uses KSB heat transfer oil with a temperature rating of 330 degrees; it works quite well. However, its maximum temperature tolerance is 350 degrees, and your temperature is indeed quite high.
The difficulty lies in the mechanical seal. It can be improved through a flushing scheme and a water-cooling scheme. However, this pump, along with the sealing and seal system (PLAN23+53B is recommended), won’t be cheap either. Plus, if you want branded products, it will be even more expensive.
Centrifugal pumps are advantageous over magnetic drive pumps for heat transfer oil pumps, and the quality of heat transfer oil pumps in China is quite good
