Can bearings starting with NUP be used as positioning bearings?

It is generally used on one side of the double-support bearing housing to restrict axial forces in both directions, thereby preventing the shaft from shifting due to such forces
How to install an inner ring with a single flange? Which side bears the principal axial force?
The inner ring has a single flange on the outside of the impeller, and it is the side of this flange that bears the axial force
Under what circumstances is it necessary to install this type of bearing?
Pumps such as double-support, double-suction pumps have this feature quite commonly; it is also present in multi-stage pumps with symmetrical impellers and a small shaft runout
So why are NUP bearings used in these pumps, and what are the advantages?
