Request for help: Horizontal pump, used for deacidified condensate; the temperature at the pump inlet is around 100 degrees, the outlet pressure is 1.3 Mpa, and it is equipped with a single-face mechanical seal. Can flushing scheme 11 be used? Is it necessary to add a flow control orifice plate?
Communicate with the pump manufacturer! In the end, it is still the pump manufacturer’s commitment that holds responsibility!
If the design is Plan 11 and no issues are found during operation, there is no need to add anything.
The flushing plan is primarily designed to address potential risks such as fire, explosion, or poisoning in the event of a medium leakage; if such risks do not exist, then there is no need to consider a flushing plan
Standard requirements dictate that cooling measures should be considered for water with a temperature above 80 degrees, as its lubricity is extremely poor at such temperatures. If the suction and discharge pressures do not exceed 0.7 MPa, no addition is needed (as Teacher Gu said).
