Gentlemen, this is a turbine; this plate is located between the upper and lower casings of the turbine. What is its function? This is Mitsubishi’s turbine: handshake
It’s not on the midline, right? From your picture, it’s located at the bottom of the cylinder, near the midline.
It’s obvious that this panel was added later by your company; is it meant to prevent steam or lubricant from leaking? You’ll need to ask your technical staff about this
It should be fixed with insulation material; usually, the insulation material used to fix turbines is made by welding steel wires to it. This is the first time I’ve seen something like this
