Installation of balanced mechanical seals

When installing a balanced mechanical seal, the O-ring of the stationary ring gland and the rotating ring can easily be cut by the shaft shoulder; is there a better way to install it?

They all have chamfers, so they’re not easy to break
Is the shoulder chamfer not sufficient? Deal with it using a file. New shaft created; the shoulder chamfer is marked as R chamfer. The moving component rotates and is installed on the shoulder of the shaft
Create a thin shaft sleeve (with good external surface finish), whose inner portion has the same diameter as the outer diameter of the shaft hub, while the outer side features large chamfers to guide the mechanical seal into place. For better performance, apply Vaseline as lubricant to the outer wall of the thin shaft sleeve.
