To measure the piston clearance in reciprocating compressors, the lead wire method is generally used. However, when the clearance is large (3.5–4.5 mm), it’s not possible to find a lead wire of that thickness; therefore, we have to twist several strands of fuse wire together. I would like to ask how everyone bends lead wire – are there any other thicker or better materials that can be used as substitutes?
Just purchase the thick ones directly, that’s it:lol
If it’s truly impossible to find them, then make several iron strips of different thicknesses and stack them together. For reference.
It’s completely fine to twist the wire; this device isn’t that precise anyway, with a tolerance of usually ±0.5mm
There is also another type of lead strip, which is thicker.
Are you referring to the dead-center clearance of the reciprocating machine? If it’s possible, copper tubes with gauge wind can be used; that’s how I do it here{:9001:}
There are thick ones; if they don’t work, just buy them online
There are thick lead wires that can be twisted together for use, as well as sheets that have been flattened and made thicker
