The reciprocating compressor originally had an outlet pressure of 0.19 MPa at full load, with a temperature of 95 degrees Celsius. After it stopped operating at 6:00 in the morning, it was found at 9:00 that both the temperature at the first-stage outlet and the pressure had increased to 110 degrees Celsius and 0.22 MPa respectively. By opening the line from the first-stage outlet back to the inlet, the temperature dropped slightly. The secondary outlet temperature and pressure remain basically unchanged from before. May I ask the teachers what might be the causes of this, and how should it be dealt with? Thank you!
It could be a problem with each valve individually; the set values may be the same, but the actual opening degree might differ from before.
Check for any issues with the cylinder valve and cylinder cooling water, as well as for any internal leakage in the return air.
If possible, touch the temperature of the valve plate at the secondary inlet with your hand to see if it is hot; it is recommended to check the primary inlet as well.
If the exit temperature and pressure increase, check the exit valve; there must be something broken. Use a temperature gun to measure the temperature of the outlet valve; remove the one with the higher temperature. If not, remove the cylinder to check the piston ring issue. However, if the reading goes high right after it stops and then starts again, it’s unlikely to be a problem with the piston rings.
The pressure has also increased; this rise in temperature is clearly caused by an increase in the pressure ratio
Check whether the second-stage suction valve is leaking.
Is it liquid-filled? The cooling effect of the cooling water in the first-stage cylinder is poor; could the increase in pressure be due to poor performance in the second stage or backflow leakage? Are there any changes in the temperature and pressure at the inlet of the first stage?
Use a temperature gun to measure the temperatures on the inlet and outlet sides of the compressor’s first-stage piston cylinder; if the temperatures are normal, it can be concluded that the issue lies with the utility systems or instruments. If there is an abnormal temperature, issues such as air leakage from the check valve or gasket are checked. Personal opinion.
