What is the purpose of adding a flow-limiting orifice plate to a reciprocating compressor?
Is it a flow-limiting orifice plate or a flow-measuring orifice plate? It would be best to send a picture for reference.
I’m sure it’s a flow-limiting orifice plate installed at the outlet; there is a large amount of exhaust gas, and it occurs intermittently. But low import pressure shouldn’t cause large fluctuations, right?
Maybe the check valve was mistaken for a flow control orifice plate? Otherwise, it doesn’t make any sense,,,。 It is recommended to take another look, or ask your technical team, or check the flowchart. For reference.
Reciprocating compressors generally do not have flow control orifice plates; the use of such plates can lead to excessive outlet pressure and overheating. What you are referring to is likely a check valve.
