On September 24, 2024, the China Gaoqing Advanced Fluorine Materials Technology and Applications Innovation Exchange Conference and Investment Promotion Meeting was grandly held in the International Hall of the Conference Center at Shandong Qisheng International Hotel. 　　This conference promoted the in-depth transformation and upgrading of the fluorine chemical industry, facilitated the role of advanced fluorine materials in various elements of new productive forces, explored ways for the fluorine chemical sector to leverage technological innovation to enable broader applications of such materials, and helped Gaoqing become a well-known domestic hub for the advanced fluorine material industry. 　　Cao Xianjun, vice president and secretary-general of the China Fluorosilicon Organic Materials Industry Association, said that the fluorine chemical industry serves as a key link connecting the chlor-alkali industry, the petrochemical industry, and strategic emerging industries. Its products are used in high-tech fields such as national defense and military affairs, aerospace, electronic information, new energy, and new materials, playing a crucial role in the development of the national economy; it is thus referred to as a \"golden industry\". Gaoqing New Materials Industrial Park is a provincial-level chemical industrial park. The park focuses on the development of new material industries such as fluorine-based materials, polyurethanes, and engineering plastics. To date, there are 12 enterprises in the fluorine-based new materials industry chain, and efforts are underway to establish the largest fourth-generation refrigerant industry base in China. 　　Gaoqing Chemical Industry Park is a provincial-level chemical industry park as well as a provincial digital economy park; it is also a highly promising and dynamic base for high-end new materials in Zibo. Over the past three years, the park has implemented 44 major provincial and municipal projects in total, driving an average annual growth rate of 18.4% in fixed asset investment and 20.3% in the total output value of industrial enterprises above a certain scale. It has also developed 12 new chemical materials whose market share in the domestic market exceeds 30%. The new materials industry, led by fluorine-based materials, has been recognized as a provincial-level specialty industrial cluster. 　　At the event, certificates were awarded for the “Top 20 Global Fluorine Chemical Companies 2024” and the “Top 10 Chinese Fluorine Chemical Listed Companies 2024”. 　　At the conference, Wang Jianzhong, deputy chief engineer of the China Fluorosilicon Organic Materials Industry Association; Lu Jian, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and researcher at the Xi’an Institute of Modern Chemistry; Xie Sanming, former first-level inspector at the Operation Monitoring and Coordination Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Zhuang Quanchao, professor at the School of Materials and Physics of China University of Mining and Technology; Ma Bing, doctor and chairman of Anhui Continuous Flow Technology Co., Ltd.; Zhao Junmei, researcher at the Institute of Process Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and supervisor of doctoral students; and Fang Qiang, researcher at the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered reports on topics such as \"The Current Situation and Prospects of China’s Fluorine Chemical Industry\" and \"Developments in China’s Fluorine Chemical Industry and the Synthesis of Environmentally Friendly Fluorinated Hydrocarbons\".
