In the early stages of chemical engineering construction projects, the equipment specialization is primarily responsible for the following tasks: 1. Equipment layout: Design a reasonable arrangement of equipment within the plant to ensure smooth and safe production processes. 3. Equipment procurement: Prepare technical specifications, contact suppliers, and carry out the purchase of equipment. 4. Equipment budgeting and cost control: Estimate equipment costs, participate in budget formulation, and control expenses. 5. Interface coordination: Coordinate with other specialties such as process, electrical, and automation to ensure that the equipment interfaces are compatible. 6. Equipment technical support: Resolving technical issues during equipment installation and commissioning. .
The production process has not yet been finalized, so the equipment department has little practical work to do in terms of construction. The new company should organize the regulations related to equipment during the production phase; it should also learn more about new materials and any updated technologies related to custom-made equipment. Standard requirements should be established in the technical agreements, such as unified interfaces and standards for electrical and instrumentation systems, and a list of excellent suppliers for such equipment should be compiled
