Recently, Klone Group successfully completed the technical upgrade of the double-end face mechanical seals used in the dynamic separators of Wuhan Petrochemical’s polypropylene plant, replacing them with dry gas seals. The production environment of the polypropylene plant at Wuhan Petrochemical is characterized by high temperatures and pressures. Traditional mechanical double-face seals have long suffered from leakage problems, which not only lead to material loss and reduced production efficiency but also pose significant safety risks. They are no longer capable of ensuring the stable and efficient operation of the plant, hence there is an urgent need for better solutions. Lingon Group, thanks to its expertise and extensive experience in the sealing field, boldly took on this challenging renovation task. The R&D team conducted in-depth research on the processes and operating characteristics of polypropylene plants, and by taking advantage of the benefits of dry gas sealing technology, developed a customized renovation plan for Wuhan Petrochemical. As an advanced sealing technology, dry gas sealing offers advantages such as high sealing performance, long service life, and stable and reliable operation. It can effectively reduce or eliminate fluid leakage, lower maintenance costs and downtime, and is suitable for harsh environments with high temperatures and pressures. The improvement effects are significant: the operational stability of the equipment has been greatly enhanced, leakage levels have been reduced to near zero, production efficiency has increased markedly, and maintenance costs have been substantially lowered, bringing considerable economic and safety benefits to Wuhan Petrochemical. This sealing upgrade represents the first breakthrough by Klone Group in terms of improving the seals of dynamic separators in polypropylene plants.
