Over the past few days, the exhibition \"Laying the Foundation for a Strong Country – Achievements of Chinese Manufacturing during the 14th Five-Year Plan Period\", held in the exhibition halls of China’s **museum, has seen a continuous stream of visitors. The green manufacturing exhibition area featured **Energy Group’s 500,000 tons per year CCUS demonstration project; a precise silver-colored mechanical model caught the attention of many professional visitors – it was the AV140 axial flow compressor, the world’s most powerful model of its kind, developed by Shaanxi Gas Turbine Group for use in this project. The Shaanxi Gear AV series of axial flow compressors are widely used in industries such as petrochemicals, aviation, and metallurgy. Among them is the AV140 axial flow compressor, which is particularly suitable for high-flow applications. It has a rotor diameter of 1.4 meters, a total weight of 400 tons, and a maximum air flow rate of 20,000 cubic meters per minute; its conversion efficiency exceeds 92%, representing the international leading level of technology in this field. This unit represents a major breakthrough for China in terms of achieving self-sufficiency in high-end equipment; it has broken the long-standing monopoly held by Western countries in the technology of large axial flow compressors used for aerospace high-altitude testing facilities and continuous transonic wind tunnels, thereby filling the gap in China’s capabilities in the field of ultra-large axial flow compressors. Currently, this device is widely used in key industrial processes such as high-altitude simulation tests for aero engines, compressed air energy storage, and metallurgical blast furnaces. It has been awarded the title of \"Best Product in a Specific Category\" in China’s manufacturing sector on three occasions, and is regarded as the \"heart of power\" in the industrial field. **The 500,000 tons per year CCUS demonstration project operated by the energy group uses the flue gas from the wet electrostatic precipitator of Unit 4 at Guoneng Taizhou Power Plant in Jiangsu as the feed gas. It employs the alcohol-amine absorption method to capture carbon dioxide generated during coal combustion, and takes advantage of the local resources available to utilize this carbon dioxide as an energy source. It is the largest demonstration project for carbon dioxide capture, utilization, and storage in thermal power generation in Asia. Shanxi Blower provided two core compressor units for this project, which serve as the key power source for the entire system. The project has been operating stably for nearly 3 years now, capturing 500,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year, with a capture rate of over 90% and a sequestration rate of 100%. It is understood that the “Building a Strong Country – Exhibition of China’s Achievements during the 14th Five-Year Plan Period” was jointly organized by the ** Museum of China and the Public Relations Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and was opened to the public on New Year’s Eve. Taking the intelligence, sustainability, integration of manufacturing, as well as the upgrading of industrial foundations and the modernization of industrial chains as the core themes, the exhibition brings together over 300 pieces (sets) of industrial achievements that represent the highest standards during the 14th Five-Year Plan period – what can be regarded as China’s key industrial achievements. These are organized into six categories: high-end manufacturing, industrial foundations, intelligent manufacturing, green manufacturing, integrated development, and better living standards. The exhibition highlights those breakthrough achievements that feature China’s first-of-a-kind products and technologies that overcome key challenges, offering a comprehensive overview of the representative accomplishments and rapid development of China’s manufacturing sector during this period.
