The original site of Shenyang Blower Factory was located at No. 36, Yunfeng North Street, Tiexi District; the building there no longer exists. In 2006, the facility moved to No. 16A, Kefa Road, in the Shenyang Economic and Technical School Development Zone. The southern campus of this factory was established in 1934 and was formerly known as Nippon-Manchuria Steel Co., Ltd. After the liberation of Shenyang in 1948, the Shenyang Fourth Machinery Factory of the Machinery Industry Administration Bureau under the Northeastern Ministry of Industry was established there (with no connection to the original site used by the Japanese puppet regime); it was renamed Shenyang Blower Factory in 1963. Before the year 2000, it was China’s first specialized manufacturer of fans, serving as the technical and information hub for the fan industry nationwide. Its product output accounted for 36.8% of the total output of the national fan industry, and the quality awards it received for its products represented about 25% of all such awards in the country.
