Can the neck of a long-neck flange be inserted directly into the housing? Or does the height of the insertion into the housing require an increased neck? Standards specify requirements for the total height of the flange.
Such flanges can use integral steel pipe flanges
Perhaps I didn’t explain myself clearly. What I mean is: when using a long flange neck, for example when inserting it into the housing, is it necessary to increase the height of the flange neck, or can it be inserted without increasing its height? In that case, the flange neck would become shorter, and the reinforcement would use the height specified by the standards. Is that acceptable?
It is generally not connected directly to the equipment; instead, if there is a device that takes over this role, it is the welding equipment that does so, and then it is connected to the flange.
It would be better to add a short tube, or use a flange structure.
The neck can be extended with a section of tubing, but it is not cost-effective.
