To design a vertical ethylene oxide metering tank with a capacity of 10 cubic meters, how should its design pressure and design temperature be determined?
Use the saturated steam pressure at 50 degrees; it seems to be less than 0.5 MPa
Ethylene oxide undergoes polymerization when the temperature is above 40 degrees, so cooling measures are necessary; it’s impossible for the temperature to reach 50 degrees

Fixed-type ethylene oxide storage tanks (1) Operating temperature range: -10℃~20℃; (2) The design pressure is determined based on the pressure of the nitrogen sealing system ; (3) The ethylene oxide storage tank shall be equipped with a water cooling spray system, and an adequate water supply shall be provided. (4) Other requirements shall meet those in (1), (3), (5), (6), (9) and (10) of the preceding paragraph regarding \"ethylene oxide road tankers\". ......
Are the requirements for metering tanks and storage tanks the same?
Although metering tanks and storage tanks have different uses, their design temperatures should be the same.
Whether it is a metering tank or a storage tank, it is safe to follow the requirements specified in 95, depending on the properties of the medium being handled.
May I ask, what are the operating conditions for this EO metering tank in your process design? How long does it take from feeding to emptying? Is it necessary to empty and purge every time? What is the maximum ambient temperature? How long will this maximum temperature last? If the ambient temperature remains above 20°C for an extended period, even Regulation No. 95 issued by the Quality and Technical Supervision Department cannot ensure your safety!
