Article 3.2.16 of the new regulatory standards requires that: \"When designing pressure vessels with quick-opening doors, designers shall install safety interlock devices, and specify the technical requirements regarding their operating environment, calibration intervals, calibration methods, etc.\" Which organizations manufacture such products? How do you establish these regulations, and what are the criteria used?
Our company has developed its own quick-opening blind flanges. We have paid attention to this issue as well; I even asked on the website of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, but no specific guidelines were provided. I think that no matter how they are designed, as long as the safety interlock devices meet the requirements specified in the regulations, that’s sufficient. Regarding the operating environment, calibration intervals, and calibration methods, it’s sufficient to provide specifications in the instruction manual. There is no mandatory requirement for calibrating quick-opening blind flanges; we only require that the users conduct an inspection once a year according to the instructions.
