As the title suggests, I’m looking for anyone who has conducted an economic analysis of long-distance transportation of high and medium-pressure steam to share their findings! Thank you

Unless there is a need for the heat load associated with high-pressure and medium-pressure steam production processes, it is not economical to transport such steam over long distances; generally, the excess pressure is used to generate electricity via turbines, and the exhaust steam or extracted steam is then utilized for heating purposes. The principles for transporting high and medium-pressure steam are, first, to make use of the steam locally in order to minimize irreversible energy losses due to temperature and pressure reduction; secondly, to control the resistance losses during transportation, with such losses should not exceed 0.1–0.15 MPa per 100 meters of pipeline.
