There is a condensate tank after the reboiler at the bottom of the wastewater stripping tower, and another water-cooled cooler follows. Recently, a severe water hammer occurred at the inlet of the coolant water in this cooler, resulting in a large amount of steam being released from the drain valve. What could be the cause of this problem?
The steam trap needs to be cleaned. As for the drain valve, it discharges a small amount of flash vapor; its heat content is very low, so there is little value in recovering it, which is quite normal.
