I’ve just started working at a new company. I’ve spent a few days understanding the mechanical aspects, but I’m completely confused by what’s called a process flow diagram. When I search online for information on this topic, I find many diagrams, but very little actual information; most of what’s available relates to construction. When I ask my colleagues, they say it’s just blueprints left over from previous employees. I’m afraid of bothering them by asking too many detailed questions, so I ended up coming across this forum after some random searches. The content here deals with pipes, valves, pumps, etc., which seems somewhat related to what I’m dealing with. I’m hoping to get some advice from everyone here; I’d like to learn a systematic approach to this subject, so that I can learn how to calculate pipe diameters and select the right valves, among other things
