There is a liquid storage tank; the level gauge is damaged, and there is some liquid remaining inside. It needs to be removed now, and it’s necessary to know the liquid level. Question: Can an ultrasonic flaw detector be used to measure liquid level height, and how is it done? How to choose a probe?
It’s not possible to measure; at the interface between steel and liquid, all of the ultrasonic waves are reflected back, so they don’t reach inside the liquid, and thus measurement is not possible.
It is necessary to determine whether the tank is equipped with an agitator motor; if no such motor is available, an ultrasonic level gauge can be used. If the tank is too tall, a guided wave tube can be installed.
