For storage tanks, a buffer baffle is installed at the inlet, and an anti-vortex plate is installed at the outlet.
Only the liquid outlet connected to the pump requires an anti-vortex baffle, mainly to prevent cavitation in the pump; if the outlet is not connected to a pump, such a baffle is not necessary. When necessary (such as high inlet flow rate, proximity to the cylinder wall, or presence of gases in the inlet fluid), an anti-erosion baffle is installed at the inlet.
