When using the SW6-20113.0 version of the calculation software to compute type B flat welding flanges, and we select the option file:///C:/DOCUME~1/ADMINI~1/LOCALS~1/Temp/msohtml1/03/clip_image002.gif, the mechanical model displayed automatically by the software is shown in the figure below; the mechanically model automatically chosen by the software is “Integral Flange (2)” file:///C:/DOCUME~1/ADMINI~1/LOCALS~1/Temp/msohtml1/03/clip_image006.gif file:///C:/DOCUME~1/ADMINI~1/LOCALS~1/Temp/msohtml1/03/clip_image008.gif file:///C:/DOCUME~1/ADMINI~1/LOCALS~1/Temp/msohtml1/03/clip_image010.jpg. However, upon referring to page 188 of GB150.3-2011, Figure 7-1 (continued), figure j), it is found that this figure is more similar to a type B flat welding flange. In my opinion, in the SW6 calculation software, selecting the mechanical model as “arbitrary flange” is closer to a type B butt weld flange. Because when entering the parameter \"shear plane height h1\", the two models are different, and the input data also varies.
