The nameplate of our company’s boiler exhaust fan indicates the following: Model number: QAY-5№21.2F, air handling capacity of 163,200 m3/h, and wind pressure of 6,300 Pa. May I ask: if the ventilation volume indicated on the nameplate is to be converted into Nm3/h, the pressure and temperature of the flue gas corresponding to the designed ventilation volume of 163,200 m3/h are required. What are these corresponding pressure and temperature values? Thank you!
Nm3 refers to the volume of a gas at 20 degrees Celsius and 1 standard atmosphere; N stands for Nominal Condition, meaning that the conditions of the air are: one standard atmosphere of pressure, a temperature of 0°C, and a relative humidity of 0%. m3 refers to the volume of the gas under actual operating conditions ; Nm3/h represents the standard flow rate at 0 degrees and 1 standard atmosphere; it is often referred to as standard cubic volume, indicating the volume under standard conditions. m3/h, on the other hand, denotes the flow rate at the operating temperature and pressure. 1 m3/h (at temperature t2 and pressure p2) = 1 × 1.013×10^5 × t2 / (p2 × t1), where t1 and t2 are in Kelvin units (25℃ = 25 + 273 K). p1 and p2 have the same unit, which is absolute pressure
This temperature and pressure can be viewed on your boiler’s DCS or PLC, right?
The exhaust temperature of ordinary boilers is around 140°C, with the pressure being at atmospheric level
