May I ask, can the coalescer in a diesel hydrogenation unit be purged with steam? How does a coalescer handle purging? :)
It cannot be purged with steam. The coalescer is purged before the filter element is installed. Blowing is strictly prohibited after installing the filter element
The purge steam is usually around 170°C, and the coalescing filter element cannot withstand such a temperature; therefore, the filter element must be removed before purging.
