For standard flange covers with openings, it has been encountered that flanges or sight glasses are installed on the manholes; when the opening size is small enough to meet the conditions for equal-area reinforcement, normal calculations can be applied； Another example is when a standard flange cover of DN50 has a hole of DN25 made for inserting a temperature sensor – in such a case, it’s impossible to determine the appropriate values. If the diameter of the hole is more than half of the inner diameter, then SHT3059 should be referred to (it’s not certain whether this is correct).
This post was last edited by zjq1962 on 2019-4-19 08:46. If the diameter of a single opening in a flat cover connected by bolts exceeds 0.5Do, GB150.3 allows for calculation based on the flange structure; otherwise, calculations shall be carried out in accordance with 6.5.2 of GB150.3.
