No. Because the weld evaluation for 6mm thick steel plates allows for impact testing. And you don’t do it. When it is not possible to prepare small-sized impact specimens due to standard requirements, the impact test may be omitted. Let’s make it again using a board of 5mm or less.

According to NB/T47014-2011, with the material being Q345R, a weld evaluation for butt welding of 6mm thick plates has already been completed. Now, there is butt welding of steel pipes with a wall thickness of 5.5mm; is it necessary to redo the weld evaluation? Can this weld evaluation cover the 5.5mm wall thickness without conducting impact tests?
