Tungsten inert gas welding is a welding technique that builds on the principles of conventional arc welding; it uses argon gas to protect the metal filler material. High current is applied to melt the filler material into a liquid state on the base material being welded, thereby creating a molten pool that allows for metallurgical bonding between the metal to be welded and the filler material. By continuously supplying argon gas during the high-temperature welding process, the filler material is kept away from oxygen in the air, which prevents its oxidation.
Welding must still be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the process flow card.
