The butterfly valve stem and handwheel have come loose

Experts, on the waterline of our unit, the handwheel of a butterfly valve has come loose from its valve stem; the handwheel no longer functions, and it’s not possible to open the butterfly valve. I’m asking for advice: is it possible to disconnect the handwheel from the valve body without removing the butterfly valve itself (since production is ongoing)? I want to see if it’s possible to connect the handwheel to the valve stem, but I’m not familiar with the structure of butterfly valves and am worried that water will spray out if I disassemble it. . . Thank you

Worm gear drive butterfly valve: D37A1X5-10/16ZB
Simply remove the worm gear box and replace it. The removal of the worm gear box is carried out from the top connection flange of the valve; generally, for sizes below DN400, there are 4 hex bolts per column. The worm gear box is not involved in the valve body sealing at all. The problem you described could be due to a tooth being lost on one of the worm gears in the worm gear box
