Buried double-layer tanks at gas stations shall be equipped with leak detection points in accordance with the requirements of the \"Code for Design and Construction of Automobile Fueling and Gas Refueling Stations\" (GB50156-2014), and online monitoring systems are recommended to be used. If there is a leak in the inner layer of the oil tank, it can be detected through the online monitoring system.
Leakage refers to a leakage that is even smaller than micro-leakage; for example, on a seal ring, a drop of oil the size of a millet grain seeps out – how can one detect that?
Double-layer oil tanks are usually tested for leaks using the liquid sensor method. The leak detection riser runs from the top of the oil tank down to the interlayer structure at the bottom of the tank, and a leak detection sensor is installed within this riser. When the inner and outer walls of the oil tank are damaged, oil or groundwater enters the interlayer through the breaches, triggering the liquid sensor and generating an alarm signal.
